Raised in Wellington, Sophie attended Victoria University, graduating with a BA in History and English literature, before returning to Toronto, the city of her birth, and doing a postgraduate certificate in TV writing and producing. After several years in the film industry, she returned home to Wellington and is now enrolled in the Massey Creative Writing Masters, where she purposes to combine her love of moribund manners, antiquated prose and spirited dialogue into the writing of historical fiction.
