Miriam Sharland

Miriam Sharland is a writer and editor based in Palmerston North, Aotearoa New Zealand. She recently started writing creative nonfiction, and has just completed an ecobiographic memoir for her Master of Creative Writing at Massey University. Miriam is a keen cyclist and despairing gardener.

When we say that something is set in stone, we mean it’s immutable, permanent. But stone wears down over time, crumbles in the weather, is consumed by lichen. Stone is always changing; it just happens at a rate beyond human timeframes.
